THE STORY SO FAR:
McNamee started his rallying career as a navigator in 2008 in a Peugeot 306 S16 alongside his Father Breen. Later in the same year he acquired a Peugeot 205 autocross car and began competing in events.
At 20 he decided to purchase his first stage rally car, a standard 1993 EG6 Honda Civic. After modifying it to suit his needs, McNamee made his debut as a driver at the 2013 Monaghan stages rally. After competing in the car for six events, he decided to begin building a more competitive car to compete in the National Junior Championship.
From mid 2014, another EG6 chassis was obtained and work began on building the new car.
2015 saw McNamee bring the new civic to five top-3 finishes and 1st in class in the Triton national junior championship.
2016 saw McNamee win the National Junior Championship.
