Galway Summer Rally

Galway summer was the penultimate round of the Triton Showers championship and with James Bradley too far ahead in championship standings, 2nd overall in the championship was the best Gary could hope for. Gary set the pace from the word go and was fastest through the first stage by a mere 5 seconds over Cormac Phelan. He continued to lead into first service with less than 4 seconds separating the top 3 of McNamee, Phelan and Brady.

Unfortunately Gary spun and dropped to 2nd going into the last stage, over 14 seconds behind Phelan in the C2. He went for a big push on the last stage and reduced the gap to 3.2 seconds but it just wasn’t enough to secure McNamee’s first junior win in the series.

After Galway the championship stood as:

James Bradley: 38

Gary McNamee: 30

Cormac Phelan: 30
